CY Cergy Paris University (CYU) partner is calling the whole consortium to prepare for the training programme of the MEET project, the Geothermal Winter School 2021, which will be held at the Institute of Advanced Studies (Maison Internationale de la Recherche) of CYU this coming winter, in Cergy, close to Paris (France; Fig. 1). It will be jointly organized with the 12th edition of the European Geothermal PhD Days 2021 (EGPD), organized for the first time in France and in collaboration with University of Neuchâtel (CHYN, Switzerland). With this joint meeting, PhD students have the opportunity to register to both events and get more visibility for their research work.

MEET Geothermal Winter School 2021 is oriented towards practical knowledge and applied geosciences in Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS). It will focus on Research & Development topics raised by the MEET project regarding EGS potential in Europe (see fig. 2):
– deep geothermal systems in various geological settings,
– increase heat production from existing plants and oil wells,
– mapping best locations for future installations in Europe.
Keynote lectures will develop each of these themes thanks to acknowledged European lecturers. In addition, several project partners from industry and academics are involved in the training, as they will give practical lectures to students on their expertise domain. Finally, a tour of several geothermal sites will be organized in the Melun district (Southwest Paris) between EGPD 2021 and MEET Geothermal Winter School 2021.
Please stay tuned and get prepared for the MEET Geothermal Winter School 2021!
